The orchestra has been operating as a classical symphony orchestra for 30 years.
In 2000 they won the Hungarian Heritage Award, the same year they were included in the Guinness Book of Records. Since its foundation, the orchestra has released 27 CDs and 5 DVDs, of which 5 have been certified platinum and 9 gold.
The orchestra has been included in the Hungarikum Collection as a „world-renowned artistic and traditional practice” and is therefore entitled to use the Hungarikum title as of 18 March 2014.
